About

The Collection Began Before I Did

I didn’t choose stamp collecting — it was waiting for me, in a worn album my father kept on the top shelf of his steel almirah. The colors, the perforations, the smell of old paper were my introduction to history long before any textbook.

Childhood stamp collection featuring vintage postage stamps from India, USA, Spain, and Pakistan, fanned out on a dark background

That album grew into a collection of over 100 stamps — Indian commemoratives, colonial-era British India issues, and select international pieces. StampTales is where their stories get told properly: researched with rigour, written as narratives, not catalogue entries.

Every stamp image here is my own — shot on a Nikon D3400 and a Pixel 8, because a catalogue scan won’t show you how ink bleeds differently on handmade versus machine-pressed paper. The camera sees what the eye misses.

StampTales is an independent project — researched, written, and photographed by one person. Not affiliated with India Post; doesn’t sell or authenticate stamps. Drafting is AI-assisted; every fact is checked and every final edit is mine. Found an error? Contact me with a source and I’ll fix it.
